Sorry, I wasn't clear. The Unix structure supports assigning stdin and stdout to output and input streams respectively. It would be useful to have an input stream also tied to stderr. I have, in fact, already written a posix program driver which provides access stdout/stderr. The problem is that I find myself also writing input and output buffering for it which is silly, since the Unix struct already takes care of this.
