what's a bad array tag ?

smlnj gets kind of grumpy when you start pushing it hard (at least on  
the mac).

So this looks bad:

/usr/local/smlnj/bin/sml: Fatal error -- bad array tag 0, obj =  
0x100c0004, desc = 0x6e696c00

New one.
Can anyone enlighten me on the potential causes ?
