save a list to a file

Hi, 

I want to save a list to a file.    The list consists of tuples which 
consist of integers, booleans, and integer lists.

I know from Ullman's book how to save simple values to a file.
Well, I can write functions which save lists and tuples 
member by member,  but this is a bit tedious.

Is there a simple solution for this problem?
