Starkit no longer works.

It has been a couple years since I fooled wih starkit. Now nothing 
seems to work anymore. 

I have a recent installation of slackware 11 including tcl 8.4.13. I 
also have the Jones/Hobbs book and disk. What I want is a workable 
version of starkit and starpack.  The sdx I had wouldn't do qwrap so 
I found a newer one. BTW The pointer to the latest sdx download page 
no longer works on

Anyhow when I attempt to use the package I get:

Previously, working from the stuff on the CDR I tried to
recompile  using genkit. It blows up on step C when looking for kitsh.

...and so on and so on. Right now I have a mess and no clear way to 
work my way out of it. 

I am willing to start from scratch. Where do I start?  The wiki pages 
are old and in my experience no longer reliable.
