Maybe you included an interface or an enumeration in your selection?
I just tried the following:

 - Click on a class;         right-click yields menu
 - Ctrl-click another class; right-click yields menu
 - Ctrl-click an interface;  right-click yields nothing

Tested in ArgoUML 0.32.2.
