Well, our own archive system is also redundant in other situations, e.g. when
using any other version control system (I usually ignore these zargo~ files in
subversion). 
And if you do not adjust the setting correctly, you would still get ArgoUML's
exception dialog when working with Sharepoint.
So I would like to consider making this switchable as a separate issue.

I have been considering replacing the symbols with a more meaningful postfix,
such as ".temp" and ".backup", but that would make the filename (much) longer -
and some filesystems (like Sharepoint) have severe length limitations, too.
