This does seem like a defect to me. I wouldn't have thought a rule to display the path should be based on whether the Fig is in multiple diagrams. I think it should be shown when the class is in a diagram that is not in the same namespace as class or when the class is in a package on the diagram and that package is a different namespace to the namespace of the class. This situation is only likely to happen when classes have at some time been on multiple diagrams but multiple diagrams in itself would not be any rule for showing the path.
