I tried too. It works fine for me.

Maybe it depends on HOW you draw the associations?

You draw an association with the toolbox icon at the top of the screen, or by
one of the toolbelt buttons (i.e. the button that appears when you select the
class on the diagram)? With the "New Association" function?
