Sequence diagram takes too much vertical space

The first Classifier Role in my sequence drawing extends way down below 
the area in use.
I can not figure out why or how to shorten it.
The result is that the size of the graphic makes the text too small when 
printed on a page and the drawing looks silly with all of the 
interesting bits scrunched into the top quarter of the page.

It there a way to trim the vertical height of the bar to get it to match 
the area where the actions are shown?
