So it happens consistently across PCs, but not different diagrams.  If the
project isn't proprietary, we may be able to figure out what's going on if
you create a bug report and attach the project.  Alternatively, you can
email it directly to me if you don't want it available in the bug reporting
system.

The only other useful format is XMI which will allow you to export and
reimport the model information, but without any of the diagrams, so they'll
all have to be recreated.
