Hi Rory,

Classifiers like Actor and Class participate in sequence diagrams via
a ClassifierRole which defines a particular role for them in the
collaboration.  Their is a ClassifierRole tool in the toolbar at the
top of the diagram.  After you've added them, you can right click on
the "Bases" field and select "Add..." to add their base classifier(s).
 When the Add... dialog comes up, you should see all the existing
classifiers in your model.
