This is a question for the developers list - please continue any further 
discussion of this subject there - you are welcome.

Don't edit jar files - the only way to do this properly is to follow the 
description in the cookbook to use Eclipse and check out all source code 
with subversion.

Then you can add your button in the class named "UMLClassDiagram".
