The mechanisms that it users are generally applicable for other types of external references between XMI files (and as a matter of fact it should be able to read multi-XMI file projects created by other apps), but there's no way to create/manage these external dependencies currently. It would be pretty easy to add this functionality, but a bigger implementation task would be adding the same type of modularity for .zargo files and their other non-XMI components (.pgml files for diagrams, .todos, etc).
