Sequence vs Sequence2

I was working on a Sequence diagram recently and noticed a number of
problems with it.  There seem to be a number of outstanding issues in
Bugzilla for it.  I also noticed that we have a Sequence2 implementation,
and I was wondering which diagram type should I be using?  What are the
plans for transitioning to the new Sequence diagram?
