Hi, Dave Orme (of Eclipse Visual Editor Project (VEP) fame) wrote up a status update in a hurry about XSWT. Dave writes: I've updated the Java reflection implementation of XSWT to include Chris McLaren's XSWT editor/previewer. So you can now interactively code XSWT using a real-time XSWT preview pane inside of Eclipse. This editor/preview pane implementation is completely identical to Chris's with only the minimal changes required to make it support the new XSWT engine. The only real change to the plugin is the addition of a File/New wizard to generate a skeleton XSWT file that uses GridLayout by default. Code is (as usual) in SourceForge CVS in the Sweet project online @ http://sweet-swt.sf.net There's also an update site online @ http://sweet-swt.sourceforge.net/XSWT Disclaimers: 1) This was just a two hour hack I did last Friday because I needed to code some XSWT files I'm using in some test scripts. It's not a statement of direction by ASC or the Visual Editor Project team. :-) However, I've found the plugin to be very usable and useful as it is right now for the purpose to which I have put it. 2) This code is tested only on 3.0M4, but should work on 2.1.x as well. Please let me know if it doesn't. 3) The namespace handling code is still hard-coded; I just haven't had time (or a need) to fix it yet.
