This presentation will introduce eXtensible Application Markup Language (XAML) - Microsoft's new all-purpose markup language for .NET that lets you create web application, desktop application, print documents, animations, and much much more using HTML-like XML tags. We will look at XAML's roots and how XAML evolved from a HTML-like language available only for Windows 2006 (code-named Longhorn) and tied to its graphics kernel (code-named Avalon) to anall-purpose XML-like language for for all versions of .NET that you can use today.
