XAML for Flash Upcoming - XAML Flash Survey

  Robin Debreuil who recently joined the Xamlon team
posted a blog story titled "Feature set of our new SWF
app development tool" that talks about the upcoming
XAML tool for Flash.

  Robin writes:

  It has been a while since I last posted -- we all
have been working full out to get this xaml/swf tool
ready. It is shaping up to be very cool though, imo at
least. If you are unfamiliar with Xaml, it is the tag
based development environment for the next windows. It
is basically SVG + XUL + SMIL, and then the code is
based on IL (allowing you to program in any .Net
language). So what we are doing is using this
markup/code to generate swfs as well as windows
programs, which means not only do you get tag based UI
development, but you can program in Visual Studio or
other 'intellisense aware' types of IDEs (with the
stand alone swf compiler). Throw in that you can use
the language of you choosing, and run the same work
natively on other platforms, and it starts to be a
pretty compelling way of developing I think.

   To find out if anybody is interested in using a
XAML and Flash combo the Xamlon team has also posted
an online survey. Questions include:

   
  * Please rate the importance of the following to
your work (1=not important, 5=very important):

   o Basic skinning (bg color, outline, etc.)		
   o Advanced skinning (button shapes, etc.)		
   o Dynamic skinning (adv skinning changeable at
runtime)					
   o Flow layout (as in XUL/XAML)			
   o Resizable elements (not just stretching)		
   o Runtime code access of vector elements (bg fill,
line width, etc.)	

  * When building your applications with markup, would
you prefer a framework that mapped more to Flash (e.g.
movieclip, addListener) or to .NET/Longhorn (e.g.
Panel, Delegate)?

  * When using markup, what percent of your work would
you expect to target swf and .NET?  (The remainder
being targeted to swf only.)

  * If you were able to export the same file to a
native exe and a swf, what features would you consider
"must haves" for a common subset?
