Hi, I just stumbled over Don Demcsak (aka DonXML) XML Dev Con West 2003 talk slides titled "Declarative UI using Scalable Vector Graphics". Don kicks off his talk with a teaser: Have you ever wanted to create your own UI widgets, but didn't know the low level APIs for your platform's graphics engine? Or, what if you wanted to create your widget but needed to be cross platform, or even rendered in a browser. Well Scalable Vector Graphics can be your salvation. This session will show you how to create your own graphic mark up languages, and render them as SVG, thus eliminating the need to learn the low level graphics APIs. The examples will include interactive bar graphs, gauges, and a label generating web service that uses the SharpVectorGraphics SVG to GDI+ rendering engine. In slide 4 titled "The Options" Don kindly lists XUL as an option for declarative UIs along with Internet Exploder's Element Behaviors, Vector Markup Language and Scalable Vector Graphics. I'm not sure if you need to upgrade to Windows XP and Internet Exploder 6 just to browse Don's plain-vanilla slides.) - Gerald ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Parasoft Error proof Web apps, automate testing & more.
