Hi all, Thought you might like to know that the first version (0.2.0) of SwiXAT - Swing XML Authoring Tool - has been released. It is hosted on SourceForge, is released with the Apache licence and its home page is at http://www.swixat.org/ It implements a true MVC framework, having adopted XML to define the view (it uses SwiXML as XUL engine), BeanShell as scripting language for the controller, and uses JXPath as binding mechanism between the view and the model. It provides a complete environment where it's possible to write an entire Java Swing application (almost) without writing Java compiled code, but only XML and BeanShell code. Moreover, the use of XPath makes very simple to traverse whatever object tree of your business model. It uses SwiXML 'as is', i.e. without any modification to the SwiXML source code, so SwiXAT will be forever compatible with it and will benefit of all the improvements made on SwiXML. SwiXAT can be considered as an 'add-on' of SwiXML, in order to obtain a complete MVC Swing framework. Despite this is just an alpha release, it works without big problems and is released along with a sample application and a complete pdf user guide. I hope you'll find SwiXAT interesting. Any comment, suggestion or criticism is welcome :) Thanks Paolo Marrone ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
