Hello, The slides for Luan O'Carroll & Val Cassidy's talk covering the open source Xeotrope XUI framework for the BeJUG Rich User Interface in Java workshop are now online. Summary: UI is a pure Java framework for building rich client applications. This talk discusses the thinking behind XUI and the problems addressed by the framework. The session demonstrates how to build real-world applications using XUI and gives a glimpse of what's to come in version 2.0. Speaker Bios: Luan O'Carroll is founder of the XUI project and a director of Xoetrope Ltd., a Dublin based company specializing in Java development. Luan has contributed to a number of open source projects in the past including JBoss and the Apache Batik project. He has over 15 years experience of industry experience, including development of Java since the beta days. He holds a degree in Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin. Val Cassidy has been developing software for the past 10 years within the financial, telecommunications and engineering sectors. He has, during that time, moved from using Microsoft products to using predominantly Java and open source products. He is a developer on the XUI project and was an initial founder of Xoetrope Ltd. in 2001.
