Hello, Paolo Marrone writes: I'm glad to announce that the version 0.3.0 of SwiXAT (http:// www.swixat.org) is out. SwiXAT is a Swing-based authoring tool for the quick and easy development of GUI Java applications. It implements a true MVC framework and uses SwiXML to define the view, BeanShell (or Groovy) as a scripting language for the controller, and JXPath as the binding mechanism between the view and model. It provides a complete environment in which it is possible to almost write an entire Java Swing application without writing Java compiled code. The use of XPath makes it very simple to traverse the object tree of the application's business model. It uses SwiXML as is, i.e. without any modification to its source code, so SwiXAT can be considered an add-on of SwiXML. This release adds both model and window events management. Support for the Groovy language has been added. It's possible to use XPath expressions to bind UI components to the model. More examples have been added, and the user guide has documentation about the new features. SwiXAT is absolutely free and is released under the Apache license.
