    Allow me to highlight the upcoming free Vancouver PHP User Group  
meeting featuring Shane Caraveo - Senior Developer at ActiveState.

    Time: Thursday, May 12th at 6:00 pm

    Title: Firefox and PHP: Remote XUL Applications

    Summary: This talk will explore remote XUL applications for  
Firefox, using PHP on the server side, to produce applications with a  
more refined UI than what is possible with HTML. Major topics covered  
will include: XUL and CSS; JavaScript and UI event handling; Security

    Speaker: Shane Caraveo is a Senior Developer at ActiveState where  
he is the technical lead for the Komodo IDE, a multi-language IDE for
scripting languages that is developed on top of Mozilla. He has four  
years experience developing on Mozilla using XUL, XBL, JavaScript and
Python. He is a core PHP developer where he worked extensively on  
SOAP, FastCGI and the Windows port. He also co-authored the DBGP  
protocol for
providing a standardized debugger communication layer in scripting  
languages.
