We've just launched a new ebay codebase project at https://xui-ebay-richclient.codebase.ebay.com/. The project extends the open-source XUI framework (http://ww.sf.net/projects/xui) to facilitate the construction of rich-client applications for eBay. The goals of the project are two fold. First we want to build rich-client applications that make it easier for end users to interact with eBay. Rich-client can help in this regard by caching information locally and reducing the need for round trips to the server. Secondly we want to make the developer's life a little easier by taking care of some low level plumbing, particularly some of the details surround the SOAP interfaces. Even though there is a Java SDK for eBay we feel that a higher level/more abstracted api would be better for everyday use and hence we have wrapped some of the APIs. The project includes a demo application to show how the framework can be used. It is a StoreManager design for people and companies who want to setup and manage eBay stores. We hope you'll find it of interest and if it is let us know what you think - good bar or indifferent! ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
