XWidglets is born

XWidglets is the core of a new technology created to design XML-based
GUI for internet/intranet business Software. 

XWidglets is a XML norm used to define XML Graphical User Interface. It
is open source.

XWidglets applications provides:
- light weight XML client
- clear separation between view, data and process
- MVC I and MVC II support
- event management, 
- consistent look and feel across platforms
- rich set of GUI components
and also:
- n-tier architecture integration
- cross platform implementation
- high performance, with optimized code and server transfer compression
- easy maintenance.

XWidglets offers implementation and compatibility with state-of-the-art
norms such as XML, XML Schema, HTTP, Web Application Servers, and Web
Services.

We also provide the ready to use toolkit for XWidglets application
design:
- "SGI Engine" is the first XWidglets file interpreter (a client side
runtime developed with java 1.4.0 over JRE > 1.4 ; SGI Engine is
freeware);.
- "SGDK" is the visual IDE for RAD XWidglets design (developed in pure
java as a drag and drop framework, a XWidglets file generator and tester
; edited by Dpi Software).


Why was XWidglets created ?
Existing XML or HTML-based technologies or are not perfectly suited for
client-side business application design, event with server-side
scripting technologies: every day developers encounter difficulties
when implementing widgets, interaction and transaction management, and
MVC architectures; This actual HTML business application design may be
doomed. 

The solution is to enhance the technology toward richer set of GUI
components with advanced features, with real event management on the
client side.
XWidglets, the new XML user interface language, thus allows efficient
XML software design with clear separation between view, data and
process, and without html constraints nor other existing xml languages
limitations.
XWidglets associated with SGI Engine now offers the software industry a
light client norm for business application with all the advantages of a
rich GUI.
