Mozilla Firebird (nee Phoenix) 0.6 Goes Live

Hi,

  Mozilla Firebird 0.6 (formely Pheonix) is the first
release since the Mozilla project changed course using
a new roadmap for 1.4 and up to build a faster,
smaller, better, stand-alone browser (Firebird) and
mail client (Thunderbird) instead of a bloated
all-in-one suite.

  Note, that this doesn't spell the end for XUL
instead Mozilla drops the heavy-weight XPFE
(cross-platform front-end) for a new light-weight XUL
toolkit.

  To quote from the Mozilla roadmap:

The Phoenix user interface is defined entirely using
XUL. So in preferring Phoenix, we are not deprecating
XUL. We are demonstrating how XUL is a sound basis for
fast, cross-platform applications such as Phoenix.
</quote>

The Phoenix toolkit is a compatible reimplementation
of the XPFE toolkit, with added features such as
customizable toolbars. We are not starting a new C++
GUI toolkit, we are simply moving to the next
generation XUL toolkit. 
</quote>
