Clement, Im not sure I understand this process - how is this differnet to HTTP basic authentication? IE: When HTTP basic authentication is used, the webserver/browser authenticate, and once they have done that, PLA picks up the user name/dn from the PHP_AUTH_USER variable, and the password from PHP_AUTH_PW variable - and uses that for all subsequent LDAP operations.
