I've added your Makefile to 1.1.x, it was timely that you provided that,
as I was building the release for 1.1.0.7 (which has just some minor
updates).

I've done some major work in the SANDPIT branch, so I'll leave your
patch until I have finished that work. (That way I wont forget to
include it).
