Initial Comment:
The current installation instructions (both in the package and on the wiki) just say "Put the resulting 'phpldapadmin' directory somewhere in your webroot" and then "point your browser to the phpldapadmin directory".

This is consistent with the current content of /index.php (which redirects to /htdocs/index.php), but leaves all other directories accessible from the web browser.

It would be better to add to the installation instructions the suggestion contained as a comment in the current index.php: 

"You should secure your PLA by making the htdocs/ your docroot"

This is not a bug :)

These installation instructions are purposely simple - so that users who
are no so familiar with web configuration can install PLA and get it
working.

That said, feel free to update the wiki with good suggestions like this -
thats what wiki's are all about :)
