Deon,
Thanks for your response.
I have already set:
$Config->custom->appearance['show_clear_password'] = true;
$Config->custom->appearance['obfuscate_password_display'] = false;
$servers->setValue('appearance','password_hash','');
In the Config.php file, as I mentioned in a previous e-mail.
But the password still appears as obfuscated in the phpldapadmin edit screen when I am editing the user password.
When I attempt the edit process, I am prompted to specify an edit template, which appears to have been developed by our GFE customer. When does PLA go to retrieve these templates ?
I can retrieve the username with no problem from the LDAP, using Layer 7 SecureSpan Manager.
But, the userPassword retrieval always returns a value of " [B@12abcd3 "
or something similar which starts with the " [B@ " 3 character string.
In the attachment, the first page is from a web forum I found ( April 2009) where the author is experiencing the same problem using a different LDAP product. The rest of the attachment is from my Layer 7 implementation.
I am also in touch with the Layer 7 crowd for this same problem.
Al

Al,
The controlling of the display of the password attribute value (as given
to us by the ldap server) is done via PLA.
Please see:
