Initial Comment:
I want to setup a read-only anonymous access to my LDAP server via phpldapdmin. I'm running debian squeeze with openldap 2.4.23, phpldapadmin 1.2.0.5 and php 5.3.3.

The configuration is very straigthforward. Only name and host are defined. If I set auth_type to 'session' in the config, leaving bind_id and bind_pass unset, it works ; on the login page I check 'anonymous login' and I can browse the tree. However I would like to skip the login page and login automatically anonymously so I tried to set auth_type to 'config', still leaving bind_id and bind_pass unchanged. The index page then complains : 'could not determine the root of the LDAP tree'.
