Hello,

Thank you to all who have taken time out of their schedules to run the
tests. There have been a number of tests that fail because of operating
system oddities (Fedora Core 2 and 3 with ext3 return files in a
different order from Windows XP and Gentoo with ReiserFS, for instance)
that are actually working. In two cases, tests failed because creation
permission was denied (user was running tests as a different user from
the one that checked them out) and I still have no idea what was wrong
with Davey's setup ;).

Fortunately, in the process, no new bugs have been found through running
unit tests. I found one bug in PEAR_ChannelFile through an issue with
setting up someone's channel, and added a helpful message to prevent
issues like confusion over RC/beta stability.

So, I will be releasing PEAR 1.4.0a1 on Friday. Please register any
bugs you have found in the bug tracker, even if you can't figure out how
it happened. However, if you know why, that's even better.

Thanks,
Greg
