Speed Issues

Hey All,
 
I've been playing with binarycloud and have noticed a significant lack in
speed. It seems that from looking at the debugging that most of this
slowdown is caused by smarty. For example, on my computer I'm getting a
total time of 2 seconds to render the "Controlled Form Demo".
 
Most of the time is taken up by smarty loading templates. For example, I'm
consistently getting around .25 seconds to load a single form element
template (/binarycloud/form/tpl/FormComponent.tpl)
 
Multiply that by just a few form elements and you've got a really long page
load. Is this a known issue? Anything that can be done to address it?
