A 'extra' PNG image seems a big nuisance.

I will continue to use the existing sub and super and Greek and math templates?

Feasible - if less beautiful ;-) 

At least Unicode symbols don't go fuzzy as you change the display size (unlike PNG and other
images).

And my equation(s) will fit onto one line without too much loss of mathematical clarity.
