    Why not Mozilla's XPCOM? It is a simplified COM, and then you'd
    have a JavaScript binding ready to go.

    I'm still here. I feel I have to do more reading. I'd done
    reading on what's the latest with templates, and I'm able to
    follow along, but the preprocessor library is a shocker.

    Otherwise, I was pretty big on doing a proof-of-concept in Ruby.

    Just binding a single "Hello, World!" function would be nice.

    Good to see more interest.
