xcb bugs now evident even w/o xlib-xcb

Today’s master, configured with --disable-xlib-xcb shows (in ’zilla)
the same text corruption which used to require --enable-xlib-xcb.

The build log confirms that xlib-xcb was disabled:

,----
| X11-xcb functions: no (disabled, use --enable-xlib-xcb to enable)
`----

The corruption is significantly rarer than what I saw back when I
used --enable-xlib-xcb, but the style of corruption is identical:
a few words of text gain a highly sheared transform.
