"use a given cairo_font_face_t" with pycairo / pygtk

Want to use a font which is not / cannot be installed on the system.

... but not entirely sure how to implement the ideas discussed here for
dynamic font loading using pycairo / pygtk.

Anyone have a pointer / sample code of how to do that?
