Fwd: Get the Data from Font Face

Hi All,
        Can any one help me out with the below description i sent, actually
the thing is happening that if there is no specific font present in the
device and i query for a small caps-italic variant property , i am not
getting the italic thing, so it looks to me that the scaled font is not
returning the right font to me, so i wanted to know if is there any way
that i can query a font-face of free type to get whether my requested font
is italic or not. Any help would be very helpful and appreciated.

Hi All,
       I am a new bee to font. Here is my problem that i am facing.
Suppose i have created a font_face from a pattern,next time when i need
that font face i am using the scaled_get_font to get the font face. Is
there any chance that the font face that i got from the
cairo_scaled_get_font_face may be different( in the extereme case if the
font ttf file is not present on the system or in general). Also is there
any way that i can query from the font face( Not from the pattern ) whether
it is italic or Roman. Any help will be appreciated.
