Bug with large line width near edge of window?

So I recently added zoom/pan functionality to a DrawingArea being drawn with cairo. Line width varies with zoom level. When the line width is large, say, around 40, and the line is almost outside of the area, the line appears distorted. Like the top and bottom corners of the twisted rectangle move to the corners of the screen rather than well off the side of the screen like they should be.
