Though I haven't build the cairo on IOS so far, in general, it should be able to accept any latest version of libpng, provided it is compatible.

While following the steps, 


when executing this command:
curl ftp://ftp.simplesystems.org/pub/libpng/png/src/libpng-1.2.40.tar.gz -o libpng.tgz


it shows error: curl: (78) RETR response: 550


Can I use other libpng.tgz version?
