As I mentioned it in the other thread, I have one for the Quartz font backend: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/~ranma42/cairo/commit/?h=wip/quartz-font-wanna-ct&id=9696ac368796d4d5129d3f31fdde724a71b35d00 (in the source you can see that I was wondering what should be done to make the test work on other backends, too) That branch has not yet been merged, but I would gladly modify it as needed for the new font API if we had the ability to test that the color emoji are working correctly cross-backend.
