I’m not entirely sure if this is pertinent but…

I’m wrote a Fox app (v1.7.50) using several OpenGL 3D drawing calls from within Fox. I’m running ubuntu in a VMWare virtual machine on Windows 10.

I have used VMWare (VM Player) and have had trouble with 3D applications, such as Altium (PCB layout software) - getting the same "black window" as you see. This was the Linux-hosted version of VMplayer, running a Windows 7 VM. I don't use VMplayer under native Windows, but I would imagine it has the same problems accessing the graphics hardware.

I would not blame FOX for any 3D problems in that environment.

Not really relevant to you as a Windows user, but I have had more success using Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) to run windows 3D applications under Linux, than trying to use a VM.

Understand. I am not complaining about that :-)

- Just trying to figure out - why with the same VM environment, gltest
was working with Fox version 1.6.57. Now it stops working with Fox
version 1.7.78 for the same VM.
- I use VM for development/testing my SUMO project. And with version
1.7.78 SUMO won't work inside the VM environment at all.
- I need to mention - on a NON-vm environment, i.e., a physical
computer, gltest build with Fox v1.7.78 works just fine.

Any insights or hints would be appreciated.

Thanks again
Wuping
