Deprecating the crypto/af_alg module?

A month ago the linux crypto API maintainer pushed a commit deprecating
af_alg [1]. Any objections to marking the Gnulib module deprecated once
it gets merged into the main tree?

I am guessing it will be uncontroversial since the OpenSSL versions of
the functions Gnulib uses are faster anyways.
