PostgreSQL database not found

Hi list,
	Sorry if this is not the correct list to ask....
	I am using FC3 with PostgreSQL installed during system installation
process. When i tried to install GDL2, I run ./configure and below msg
were returned...
	...
        checking for pg_config... no
	checking libpq-fe.h usability... no
	checking libpq-fe.h presence... no
	checking for libpq-fe.h... no
	checking for PostgreSQL database... no
        ...
I am sure PostgreSQL is already installled, but how come it is not
found? Do i need to build PostgreSQL from source code?
