File -> New error in GWorkspace

Hi,

I changed the default editor in the preferences of GWorkspace to vi.app. I can 
open files with it, but when I try to create new files via the menu, then a 
window pops up, stating:

A fatal error occured while detatching the thread!
is there a way to  get a more comprehensive error message or debug output?
