No subclassing of UnicodeString???

Hi,
It is mentioned in UnicodeString class that it is not suitable for
subclassing. Is there any specific reason? 
I guess, it is a design decision and was it enforced in the code. I tired
small class derived from this class. It seems to be working fine.
