I'm not exactly moving along very quickly here, so timing isn't
critical. The sooner that the changes are submitted (a bug report
in bugzilla.gnome.org is best), the more likely I'll manage to get to
them before the next release, however.

I'll let you know when/if my plans for a test suite get anywhere. 
(If  someone has an interest in working on this, let me know, and I can
sketch out how I was thinking the test framework would work.)

I don't have the ability to commit to ICU, nor the knowledge to do so
if I did. What I'm hoping is that if by keeping the changes we make to
the code in Pango well documented, it will be easy for Eric to merge
back when he has the time to work on it.
