ivtools-1.2 is now available. Almost all of the work since the last release (1.1.3) has been on a drawing chat mechanism. This is like a shared whiteboard, with granularity pushed down to the level of individual graphics and editing commands. Much work has been done: peer-to-peer connection, remote graphics creation, and an efficient mutual exclusion graphics selection that will allow parallel editing of a shared drawing. Much work remains: graphic state transmission, complete support for editing commands, and an extension of the mutual exclusion mechanism to govern the few required global permissions (connection, creation, grouping, sorting). If this interests you, build this release with ACE support, then subscribe to the ivtools-dev mailing list to ask questions, give advice, or best of all, volunteer.
