This command was written to facilitate writing hotplug scripts, so therefore 
it only shows usb and pcmcia devices.

The following command shows all readers which are supported e.g. by the ccid 
driver:
"chipcardd3 addreader --dtype ccid_ifd --rtype list"

However, I never tested adding an IFD reader to the configuration file using 
this command because I don't have a serial reader which is driven by such a 
driver...

However, it should work.
