Unnecessary Action from chipcardd2?

Hi, I’m currently checking what processes on my laptop cause unecessary actions and thus prevent the processors from sleeping. It seems that chipcardd2 is checking every 750ms for new hardware on the USB Bus. It thought that this is not necessary any more, because chipcardd2 will be notified somehow (udev? HAL?)? The loop seems to be on the very outside of the program logic and involves GWEN_Net_HeartBeat(750) in chipcardd2.c. Does the timeout really have to be that short? In other words, what events would be missed if the timeout were higher? Can these events be moved from polling to some other way of monitoring? Any maybe the hardware discovery should be skipped if no client is connected to the server. What do you think?
