Could you please send the output of "ldd /usr/lib/libcm4000.so"? Also, it might help if you start the chipcard daemon with more logging: "chipcardd3 --logtype console --loglevel info -f" This should start the server in the foreground which allows you to see the messages produced by the daemon. Please make sure to kill an already running chipcardd3 before trying this (->killall chipcardd3).
